Rachmaninoff’s adored 2nd piano concerto tugs at our heartstrings with sweeping themes and lush harmonies. Dedicated to his hypnotherapist, this was the comeback which relaunched his career. Its iconic slow movement was later immortalized in several Hollywood films and even a popballad! Featuring pianist Yevgeny Sudbin and Stanislav Kochanovsky conducting Lutoslawski’s folk-inspired Concerto for Orchestra.

Karen Gomyo performs Beethoven’s transcendent violin concerto – the composer’s only concerto for one of the most popular instruments of his time, conducted by Jun Märkl.
