Symphony No. 4
Symphony No. 7
In an époque fraught with rising ethnic tensions and tumultuous politics, Dvořák composed a symphony “capable of stirring the world”. His intense patriotism can be heard through the sunny melodies, rustic dances and pastoral horns which describe his homeland in unique Czech style. Schoeck’s Sommernacht exudes a languid calm, followed by Beethoven’s high-spirited 4thSymphony.
